If you're trying to cut back your monthly bills and have decided to do without cable, did you know that you can still see many of your favorite shows online, for free?  Hulu.com has a huge amount of episodes ranging from current programming (like House and Saturday Night Live) to classics (like 90210 and old Saturday Night Live). They even have some full-length films and documentaries. 

If you've already gone the extra mile of hooking your computer or internet service up to your tv, Hulu could actually start functioning as your new (free) cable provider!

Money-Saving Websites # 1: is your state holding money for you?

This week I'll be highlighting websites that can save you money!  I'm starting with this completely awesome site sent in by my friend (and fellow money-saver) David. 

So-- here's the deal.  Apparently there is a whole website dedicated to "unclaimed property," which could mean anything from checks that got lost in the mail to actual property, and the state could have some of yours.    I wanted to wait on this one until I had time to try it out, and lo and behold-- the state was holding $200 for me.  Wow!     The money was easy to reclaim ( I just had to fill out a few forms). 

In California, you can see if you have any unclaimed property at http://scoweb.sco.ca.gov/UCP/ . For other states, look for the link at http://www.unclaimed.org/ .

Please let me know if you find anything-- I know I was super excited about that spare $200.
