Everyone mocks me for ordering stuff from infomercials (well, actually, that's not entirely true. I think the "Shipping and Handling" charge they tack on is a total rip, so I usually end up getting the products at a drugstore or on eBay, where I can at least get a little savings.
Such was the case with Debbie Meyers' Green Bags, which I randomly found at a CVS a few weeks ago. I had been wanting to test out the Green Bags for some time, as it seems we are always throwing away part of the fresh fruits and veggies because they go bad before we have a chance to eat them.
Extending the life of fresh food seems like such an obvious place to save money, I couldn't wait to get home and put all the food in the bags. By the way, in case you're thinking "I could just use a ziploc," I'm sorry to say it doesn't work. The Green Bags are treated with something that keeps the food fresh, so a regular ziploc isn't going to have the same effect. How do I know this? Yes, I tried it. Anyway, Debbie Myers' Greem Bags-- I put all the food in, and I'm happy to say it's all still good, even after two weeks. I'm estimating they're going to have paid for themselves by my next trip to the grocery store. So, I'm definitely giving these the thumbs up!
