Personally, I don't think you should have to give up your Starbucks habit if you don't want to. If having a latte every day makes you happy and there are some other areas of your life where you can squeeze some more money, then you should have that latte, dammit!
Recently, though, I found a way to lower the total cost of your Starbucks purchase. Costco recently started selling Starbucks cards in bulk, which you can get if you're a member. I don't know whether it's kosher for me to publish Costco's prices here, but say, for example, they'll sell you five $20 Starbucks cards for $79.95 (a 20% savings), and instead of giving them away, you used them to buy your own coffee (which I've been doing). That would make every purchase 20% cheaper, since you paid less for the cards themselves.
This was a great deal and I bought a couple of these packs during the holidays for clients gifts. Not only did I save money but they were a tax write off as well!!

I also found these Starbucks cards while Christmas shopping...now, between buying the cards for myself and downsizing from a $4.58 Triple Venti Cappuccino to a $3.65 Grande Cappuccino (I hardly noticed the switch), I save $1.66 per Starbucks visit!!!
Love this site! Happy b-day!
